Brian Ashley
Jones is a soulful singer, accomplished
guitarist, and versatile touring Americana
songwriter whose songs have been placed in film
and television and recorded by other artists.
Jones' music is influenced by the guitar-driven
country, blues, bluegrass, and swing that he
absorbed in his hometown, Spartanburg, South
Carolina. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Jones
performs about 150 live shows per year at
festivals, concert series, radio and TV
stations, and songwriter venues. Jones was
an official performer at the 2010 Sundance Film
Festival, has opened multiple sold-out concerts
for Delbert McClinton, and footage of Jones
performing at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN
appeared in the British network TV show "Amanda
Holden's Fantasy Lives" in February 2010.
As a recommended
guitar clinician in Nashville Songwriters
Association International's Pros On The Road
program (NSAI), Jones leads songwriting/guitar
clinics for educational programs and chapters
around the USA.
Jones showcases his writing and playing chops
with 11 well-crafted original songs in his
current release
Courier,
which has received international radio play and
made the Top 40 of the Roots Music Report and
the Top 100 of the Americana Music Association's
album chart. The swampy instrumental "Pull 'em
Up" has been featured in the widely acclaimed
PBS television series "Road Trip Nation", and
"Take" earned Brian a finalist position in the
2008 Songwriter's Contest at the Flat Rock Music
Festival.
Along with his own busy touring schedule, Jones
has accompanied a diverse batch of artists on
stage and in the studio including Eric Heatherly,
Caroline Aiken, Thom Shepherd, Sara Hickman,
Donna Hopkins, David Gans, Doug Jones, Donovan
Roberts, Jeff Black, Diane Durrett, Ralph
Roddenbery, Deep Blue Sun, Celeste Krenz, Wyatt
Easterling, and Grammy Award winning songwriter
Jon Vezner.
